Delores Wheeler

Delores Pauline (Berger) Wheeler went to rest in the arms of Jesus on January 11, 2022. She was born in Johnson City, NY on June 15, 1941 and married Loel Wheeler, Sr. at the Primitive Methodist Church in Johnson City on June 3, 1961. Delores and her husband Loel resided in Gainesville, Georgia over the past 30 years. She will always be remembered for her quick sense of humor, her devotion to her family, her many years as a baseball mom, football mom, household chef and home-keeper who raised three active boys. Delores was pre-deceased by her parents Frank and Geraldine Berger of Binghamton. She is survived by two aunts Jane Allen and Hedy Derrick, her husband Loel, a brother Frankie Berger in Binghamton and a sister Diane Korinek in California, her three sons - Donald in Texas, David in California and Loel, Jr. (spouse Angie) in South Dakota –as well as beloved grandchildren Donnie Wheeler (spouse Rachel), Jacob Wheeler (spouse Beau), Brandon Wheeler and Ashley Ludewig. Delores will be laid to rest at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. A “Celebration of Life” memorial service is planned for early April in Vestal, NY.
